Facial Treatments Portsmouth
One of the best things about facial treatments is, I will become very familiar with your skin and will be able to give you a better idea on how to properly care for your skin. Often times we use the generic solution like using a face wash meant for oily skin because you have oily skin, but that doesn’t always work.
Skin can be a lot more complex than we think and not only do our habits affect our skin, our work, living, and social environments impact it as well. Since we can’t really change our jobs or where we live, getting the right information on how to take care of your skin and prevent breakouts with the right products is key. A key that I can help you with as I help you treat your skin. Skin care does not have to be difficult and can be made a lot simpler.
Bespoke Facial techniques and tools
My Bespoke Facials can include any of the following and below are the benefits and more about what each one is:
If you’ve ever felt tension on your face, around your jaw or between your brows, gua sha might be the tool you’re missing, I love to incorporate this into facial massages.
Gua sha – pronounced gwah shah
A gua sha is a tool that has been created using jade or rose quartz stone, and shaped without using unnecessary resins. The shape resembles a half moon, which cradles the shape of your face during the massage.
A gua sha massage is a simple and gentle technique that will increase circulation and lymphatic flow in your face. The better quality the gua sha is the more you will get from the stone. I use Hayou products ive found these to be fantastic in quality.
Using a gua sha tool allows you to work deeper into the muscles and fascia than by using fingers alone, so you can consciously release where you are tight.
Facial gua sha activates acupressure points along the 12 major meridian lines in your face.
East Asian medicine places value in the energy that certain objects carry, and materials like jade and rose quartz are known to carry healing energy.
Using a gua sha tool essentially gives your face a workout ― you are stimulating blood circulation, which increases the amount of oxygen and nutrients to the skin, which can improve skin health
Icey globes are a fantastic way to end treatment, there are so many advantages of ice therapy.
Whether you need to combat facial puffiness, large pores, or want to tighten skin, you will love how good these chilly globes feel.
Ice globes are cooling wands used in facials to soothe redness, and decrease inflammation and the appearance of large pores. I love how they stimulate and exercise facial nerves and muscles, which tighten your skin and aid in the elimination of fine lines. This ice therapy is FANTASTIC for post acne treatment. Puffy eyes a problem? These are really helpful Icey globes even provide relief to sinus or migraine headaches.
Benefits of Ice Globes:
- Eliminates redness and calms after extractions and electrolysis.
- Stimulates blood circulation and oxygenates skin, excellent after various peel and microdermabrasion.
- Excellent treatment for sinus, puffy eyes, headaches and migraines.
- Stimulates the nerves and exercises facial muscles.
- Helps to reduce large pores.
Tightens skin and eliminates fine lines.
- Soothes skin after acne treatment.
- Provides a cool finishing touch at the end of each facial
Steam opens up your pores and helps loosen any build up of dirt for a deeper cleanse. Opening up your pores also softens blackheads, making them easier to remove. It promotes circulation. The combination of warm steam and an increase in perspiration dilates your blood vessels and increases circulation.

A facial extraction is a procedure where the bacteria inside your pores is removed. This could be a build up of makeup, oil, sweat, or dirt that has entered your pores and left a mark on your face. Extractions will only take care of your whiteheads and blackheads as these are a direct result of muck in your pores, while spots are more complex and often related to other factors including gut health and hormones
No one likes having them on our skin, and if your beauty routine isn’t capable of clearing those deep clogged pores, then that’s my job.
As much as the face wash manufacturers make us believe and hope that our product of choice will wash away all of the bacteria in our pores, sometimes it’s not that simple. So get some help before you tire yourself out from switching from product to product searching for that tingly face wash sensation.
Not only will you be leaving your facial with a clearer less congested skin, but you’ll be leaving with a new set of tips and tricks to take care of your face.

This is a popular skincare technique that is used to treat a variety of conditions, including acne management, enlarged pores, fine lines and wrinkles and puffy or dark eyes.
All high frequency facial machines function by using a glass high frequency electrode to treat various contours of the face and body. When applied to the surface of the skin, a mild electrical current passes through the neon, or argon gas filled glass electrode, causing it to emit a subtle glow and buzzing noise. During the high frequency treatment, enriched oxygen molecules are produced that create an anti-bacterial action and a “natural” thermal tissue warming.
This reaction helps your blood vessels push away toxins, while the cells in your skin are enriched with nutrients and hydrating volume.
This in turn creates an increase in blood circulation and cell renewal that supports increased levels of collagen and elastin. The skin is left feeling instantly energized and noticeably softer after just one treatment.
High frequency has proven to be effective on almost any skin lesion from acne and burns, to waxing procedures and cold sores. High frequency facials are considered to be a safe, gentle and therapeutic approach to skin rejuvenation, quickly healing and restoring your skin’s health.
Lymphatic drainage and Face Workouts
massage is super powerful in terms of positively motivating and creating momentum for lymphatic drainage to help your body detox and renew. Your lymphatic system is an important part of your immune system because it’s responsible for eliminating toxins and waste from your body.
Your lymph [nodes] filter the fluid-trapping bacteria, viruses, and unsupportive foreign substances while specialised white blood cells destroy them. Stagnation or blockages in the nodes mess with the filtration process, which increases the amount of toxins in the blood and lymph system. An excess of these fluids can cause acne, increased sebum levels, and blockages in the pores.
unlike your cardiovascular system, the lymphatic system has no pump to keep the lymph moving and prevent build up. Instead, it depends on mechanical experience like exercise, inversions, breathing techniques, and massage to keep it flowing,
If your lymphatic system isn’t in tip-top shape, it’ll show in your complexion. You can always tell when someone has lymphatic fatigue because they have darker circles and puffiness around the eyes, sometimes more fine lines, and duller skin
A lymphatic facial workout involves a massage that moves from the center line of the body towards the lymph, filtering areas on the perimeter of the body with press-and-release touch.
This then creates muscle movement, which clears the lymph, improves cellular communication, and leads to healthy nourishment while eliminating toxins. lymphatic drainage facials act as a face workout: The massage strengthens your facial muscles, boosts oxygen flow, and releases endorphins, you’ll look amazing and feel amazing.
Bamboo Body Tapping using the HAYOU body tapper
I sometimes incorporate this if you are laying on the heated couch with a face mask on or under the LED light.
What is tapping?
Tapping with bamboo is an ancient Chinese therapy that works wonders for your general well being!
Called Pai sha, it’s a simple, pleasurable, yet hugely effective way to support and maintain your health, no matter what your age or physical state. Tapping the skin on a daily basis enables the free flow of this all important circulation. In as little as one-minute a day, an all over body tap can clear areas of stagnation, support lymphatic drainage and encourage a smooth flow of blood and qi around the body.
For relaxation I like to use it gently and slowly to release tension and unwind. This technique should take anywhere between 1 and 5 minutes.
We have many lymph nodes in the abdomen, so it’s particularly good to focus around this area. In Chinese medicine, tapping the abdomen supports the vital organs, which control the overall health of the body. In addition, tapping on the anterior elbow (cubital fossa) supports the heart and lung. Tapping on the armpit supports the liver. Tapping on the hip joint space connects with the spleen.
Dermaplaning is a cosmetic procedure that removes the top layers of your skin. The procedure aims to remove fine wrinkles and deep acne scarring, as well as make the skin’s surface look smooth.
Dermaplaning is safe for most people, with little risk of side effects when it’s performed by a trained therapist.
Dermaplaning is a skin treatment that uses an exfoliating blade to skim dead skin cells and the “peach fuzz” hair from your face.
Dermaplaning can be used for most skin types, however, the reason I do not offer this as a stand-alone treatment is, my main aim with skin is to maintain a healthy skin barrier, scraping away at the skin will not do this, therefore I will always want to assess your skin’s barrier before agreeing to add dermaplaning in as part of a bespoke facial.
I personally do not ever recommend doing this frequently and only see it as beneficial on particular skin types, very few and far between.
If skins dull, dry and in need of exfoliating I would use other, less invasive treatments and if its hair removal a client is needing I would be pointing them towards LASER. (which I don’t currently offer)
